About Cerro Castor

The world’s southernmost ski resort — 26 km from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, in South America’s Patagonia. With 650 hectares of skiable terrain, 35 marked runs, 861 meters of vertical drop, and 13 lifts, Cerro Castor combines scale, snow quality and Patagonian landscape in an experience that has no equal in the Southern Hemisphere.

The ski season runs from late June through early October. The south-facing orientation of the slopes protects powder snow from direct sunlight, keeping conditions stable throughout the season — even in years when other resorts face snow shortages or early thaws. Cerro Castor has terrain for every level: beginners, intermediates, and advanced, plus a snow park and a dedicated learning area for kids.

From Original House, we take care of everything so you can focus on enjoying the mountain.

Tips & recommendations

To make the most of your day at Cerro Castor, keep these tips in mind:

Wear thermal layers, waterproof gloves, a helmet, goggles, and sunscreen.
Use sunscreen even on cloudy days — snow reflects UV radiation.
Choose runs for your level. There are options for beginners and advanced skiers.
Book early. July and August are peak season and spots fill up fast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the transfer from the hotel included?

Yes. The package includes daily transfers from Original House to Cerro Castor and back, for every skiing day. Airport–hotel–airport transfers (IN/OUT) are also included.

Is food or lunch included?

No. The ski resort has restaurants and cafés for lunch, coffee, and snacks. Daily breakfast at Original House is included — served in a thermal basket so you can head out early.

What happens if the weather prevents skiing?

You can reschedule the day or swap it for another available experience, depending on conditions. From Original House we coordinate that with you. Options include a Canal Beagle navigation or an excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Is snow quality guaranteed throughout the season?

At Cerro Castor, you don’t need to wonder whether there’s snow — there is, all season long. The south-facing orientation of the slopes shields powder snow from direct sunlight, keeping stable conditions from July through October. Unlike other resorts in Argentina, the Fuegian microclimate ensures excellent skiing every season. Additionally, 30% of the runs have artificial snowmaking coverage as backup in low-snowfall years.

Can I do this if I've never skied before?

Yes. Beginner classes are available with certified instructors. If it’s your first time on snow, the resort’s learning area is the best place to start. The package can include optional classes so you can arrive at the end of the world and leave skiing.

Are there options for families or groups?

Yes. Group classes, transfers, and accommodations can be arranged for families or groups. For families, the Master Apart VIP room at Original House is ideal: a 60 m² apartment with a terrace balcony, capacity for more guests.

When is ski season at Cerro Castor?

The 2026 season runs from late June through early October. Within that period there are two windows: high season (July, first half of August, and Spring Break) and mid season (second half of August and first half of September). Prices vary by window.
